You already know of my affinity towards really well-designed, beautifully artist, thoughtful opening title sequences - so here is another to add to my list of favorites.
Juno was created by Shadowplay Studio and is a masterfully done live trace animation set to a punchy, folksy tune by Barry Louis Polisar called "All I Want Is You". My favorite part (aside from the color palette) is at the end of the credits when the animation turns right into the first scene of the movie.
Anyone else have a another movie credits contender?

Design Coding
This is a video worth watching. I think we should make a transcript of this guy's video and submit it to clients when beginning a web project. It's actually really helpful!
Adele
I have not stopped listening to this new artist, Adele. She is British and reminds me of Amy Winehouse who Adele lists as one of her inspirations on her myspace page. (Only better, in my opinion - and ironically graduated from the same art performing school as Winehouse, the BRIT School in Croydon). Her debut album is "19" (available on iTunes exclusively until June). It's worth the $9.99. Trust me.
Favorite tracks of mine include "Chasing Pavement" (released as single and YouTube video), "Make You Feel My Love" (Dylan cover) and "Tired" but the entire album is phenomenal, especially considering she is all of 20 years old. And, still lives with her mother in a flat in North London. Which begs the question: What was I doing when I was 20?

Louise Fili

One of my favorite designers has a great write up in Zagat Guide. Finally, some recognition for the important, oft-overlooked role of the graphic designer in restaurant design. And one of the best in the restaurant design arena is Fili.
But equally inspirational for me is Fili's work in package design. I love all her package design projects. However, of my personal favorites has to be Late July (I even love the name). Simply gorgeous. I remember strolling down the isle of Stop and Shop one day when it first demanded my attention because, sitting on the shelf amongst a sea of boring and predictable cracker boxes, Late July was - and continues to be - a show stopper.
I suspected Fili's hand in the design immediately (if not directly, a designer clearly inspired by her) without really knowing if I was right. Later that same summer, I met her in person and I was delighted to get the whole story about the product, the client and the how the design got to market.
I'd like to hear from you guys - any favorite designers who inspire you?

GOD

This was an Email I received from a good friend - had to share.
Noted Khazackistani designer, Xlveis Nachovawmy, experienced a prolonged near death experience where he encountered some of the legends of our design profession.
As proof, he has submitted a series of visual identity concepts that had been prepared for a "big" presentation.
The client is purported to have a sense of humor and not much willingness to go for something completely new.
He apologizes for the parchment quality, "its all they had".
