Louise Fili

One of my favorite designers has a great write up in Zagat Guide. Finally, some recognition for the important, oft-overlooked role of the graphic designer in restaurant design. And one of the best in the restaurant design arena is Fili. But equally inspirational for me is Fili's work in package design. I love all her package design projects. However, of my personal favorites has to be Late July (I even love the name). Simply gorgeous. I remember strolling down the isle of Stop and Shop one day when it first demanded my attention because, sitting on the shelf amongst a sea of boring and predictable cracker boxes, Late July was - and continues to be - a show stopper.

I suspected Fili's hand in the design immediately (if not directly, a designer clearly inspired by her) without really knowing if I was right. Later that same summer, I met her in person and I was delighted to get the whole story about the product, the client and the how the design got to market.

I'd like to hear from you guys - any favorite designers who inspire you?
